Collection: The Fates - Moirai

Do we choose our destinies, or are they chosen for us? In Greek mythology, the Fates, or Moirai, presided over our fates. The Moirai ensured every being, mortal and divine, lived out their destiny as it was assigned to them by the laws of the universe. The three sisters each held a vital piece of life in their hands. Clotho, the youngest of the sisters, presided over our births, Lachesis spun out the thread of all the events and actions of our life from her spindle, and Atropos, the eldest of the three, cut the thread of human life with a pair of scissors when it was our destined time to die.
